Fullmarx Interview

Short Bio -

I'm Fullmarx...aka Scott Hendrie aka fathead records. I'm 28, I'm a producer a singer / songwriter a rapper and I'm half decent on piano and guitar. I've lived in Eastbourne most of my life and I'm hoping to hit the big time very soon.

When did you first start making music?

I used to write entire songs in my head when I was about 10 the first thing I put to paper was a hip hop track for my GCSE. I recorded it at Ratton school and I can still remember the bars even tho it was 14 years ago.

What type of music do you make?

I make the type of music that makes people react to it in some way shape or form. That's my objective with every track. The genre or style changes from track to track.

What inspired your stage name?

My stage name comes from my old English teacher, he would write it on my spelling tests each time I aced them...which was always. My logo has a 10 out of 10 and an A+ in it.

What music do you listen to?

Weirdly enough....the music I like to listen to is nothing like the music I make...I haven't listened to another rap artist since 2005. (Unless it was one of the old greats ) I listen to Motown and country and western some 80's pop rock. Lots of Coldplay, lots of Bon Iver, generally stuff with accentuated melody and harmony.

What is your favourite album of all time?

Obviously that's a well hard question...but if I could only listen to one album ever again I think it would be Journey's greatest hits. It's fucking epic.

Give us an interesting fact about yourself.

An interesting fact about me is that from 18 months to 4 years old I lived in Fremont San Francisco which means I would have been a west coast rapper.

Who are your main inspirations?

My main inspirations in life , with regard to music, have been my family. As kids my dad and aunts and uncles would teach my cousins and I to sing in harmony. There's was such tangible magic in that thick wall of sound. I recognised a power in synchronising notes when I was about 6 and It was natural in my evolution to want to recreate it with instruments.

Would you rather lose all the hair on your body, Or be covered from head to toe, in thick hair, with no option of shaving, and why?

I'd rather be bald....at least i could draw some brows on an find a good wig maker....and if your gonna say that's not an option I'd still say bald because I like to be aerodynamic for a multitude of functions. All that hair would cause static, and be really itchy and I couldn't be doing with all the friction.

What music production programme do you use, and why?

I'm a logic man...it's logical. Logistically speaking and metaphorically.

What is your least favourite song of all time?

Least favourite song of all time is anything by the cartoons or random TV personalities...too many to select one.

What are you currently working on that you would like to talk about?

I'm absolutely chocca bloc doing about a thousand projects...I've got a battle coming up, I've done a feature for Flowdan from roll deep and will be doing more, I've got an E.P called "hoping you'll hear" coming out very soon and an album to follow that called "sex drugs and livin local" also my landing page is finished and live www.fullmarx.com

What can we expect from you in the future?

You can expect me to become some kind of Southern English White Nate doGg as bigger and bigger artist are contacting me for hooks. I'm happy with the comparison that was coined by the guy I'm battling in May. He's called Evol and he's actually bloody good.

Shout outs?

Shouting out to the Sick on the south coast boys...they've really dropped down a gear on my career and put the pedal to the metal. Stu, Yoshi p, Nrky Betson. The Righteous Ethicss project...definitely the sickest hip hop group for a 80 mile radius. Dj Jonny Jazz, Velocity, Driscoll, Wardy. Also got to do a special shout the London team... RBN (who's from Kent but we met in London ) Morfius, Big Cakes, Toastie and Flowdan plus all the budding radio stations that are play listing fullmarx.
